Dinner & Concert | Soundscapes in Dialogue
An evening of musical elegance at Schloss Bensberg
Experience an extraordinary concert in the unique atmosphere of Schloss Bensberg: With the new concert series “Soundscapes in Dialogue,” the rich tradition of 19th-century salon concerts is brought back to life—stylish, intimate, and a true rarity today.
In the splendid setting of the castle, a fascinating interplay between piano and harmonium unfolds—an instrument that experienced its great heyday in the 19th century and was valued for its distinctive tonal colors.
The historic harmonium from 1849–1850, crafted by the renowned Parisian instrument makers Alexandre Père et Fils, lends the evening a very special authenticity and brings the sound aesthetic of bygone salon gatherings vividly back to life.
From 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., you can look forward to a concert that casts the musical world of the late Romantic era in a new light. Works by Johannes Brahms, Richard Wagner, Camille Saint-Saëns, and César Franck enter into an exciting sonic dialogue, offering an impressive listening experience between German and French Romanticism.
The evening is performed by Artem Kanke (piano) and Roman Salyutov (harmonium), who, as the initiator of the series, establishes yet another artistic highlight at Schloss Bensberg.
Following the concert, the elegant restaurant Jan Wellem invites you to a delightful conclusion: enjoy an exquisite three-course menu, accompanied by selected wines, water, and coffee—the perfect ending to an evening filled with sound and culture.
