A conversation with Carolina Megas

In a short interview, The Althoff Villa Belrose is proud to introduce one of our faithful employees, Carolina Megas, our F&B Manager.

Let’s get to know more about Carolina Megas, who joined the Althoff Family for over a decade now. She started as Bar Manager for over 10 seasons before a new path spread to her in 2022, the position of F&B Manager. Always in direct contact with the clients, she knew already that our prestige and faithful clienteles will become one of the main assets in her flourishing time at the  Althoff Villa Belrose

2016: A year in another hotel to make her understand even better what is happening around us, understanding the trends, learning a new management and finally coming back to her roots at the Villa Belrose

2022 : a new challenge. After many years of being behind a bar, managing a team of only a few people, the opportunity appeared. Taking over the position of F&B Manager, not only to look after all points of restauration in the hotel but also over more than 25 employees.

Challenge: For most of the year, we are spending months of recruiting, brainstorming about the next season, what can be done, what can be improved, what are going to be our challenges etc… a lot of backend office, appointments with suppliers, finding new ones; and suddenly, we open the property again, and we are back in the daily life of a hotel. Although, that is one of the reasons it makes this job interesting, challenges and continuous novelties of the industry.

Anecdote: after many years being at the service of highly profile clients, one of the most epic requests I have ever heard was, a client who wanted to come for dinner, but only if he could take the helicopter, and land on property; which unfortunately was not possible but we made him come with a limousine.

Words for the end: The opportunity given to me a couple years ago, to become a full time F&B Manager, after a decade of being part of the Althoff Group, made me realized I found the company and management I always looked for in my job. I also had the opportunity to be trained in Germany, at our partner hotels like Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg, Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt and the AMERON Munich Motorworld during winter.
