Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg
High above Bergisch Gladbach, with views stretching across the Bergisches Land to the towers of Cologne Cathedral: our Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg is a truly magical place. We are delighted to welcome your dog and will provide a dog bed and a water bowl for the duration of your stay with us. From our specially created dog menu, you can choose from a range of dishes for your four-legged friend, from chicken breast to beef fillet tips.
Your dog is very welcome at Trattoria Enoteca, the Salvador Dalí Bar and the Lobby Bar. Our reception team will be happy to advise you on the best walking routes around the castle – and, if you wish, can also recommend a dog sitter or dog walker.

Althoff Hotel Fürstenhof Celle
Nestled in the heart of one of Germany’s most beautiful half-timbered towns, the team at the Althoff Hotel Fürstenhof Celle warmly welcomes you and your four-legged friend. Your pet is welcome in all room categories. Upon arrival in your room, you’ll find a bed of the right size, a food and water bowl, and a small bag of dog food waiting for them. In the evening, your dog is welcome to accompany you to our Taverna & Trattoria Palio.
The next day, the fun begins right on your doorstep: the French Garden, the castle grounds and the Aller floodplains are perfect for long walks. If you’re looking for a bit more of the great outdoors, a short drive will take you to open countryside where fields and woods are just waiting to be explored by your dog. A 30-minute drive will take you to the Misselhorn Heath.
Should you require someone to look after your dog for a few hours, the reception team will be happy to help – and if you ask in advance, they can even arrange for a dedicated carer.
Explore Celle and the surrounding area
Althoff Villa Belrose
Especially during the summer months, your four-legged friend will also be longing for a dip in the sea to cool off. Designated dog beaches in the region offer a welcome change of scene. Why not plan a trip to Sainte-Maxime (about a 30-minute drive from the hotel), for example?
On other beaches and in the town centre, look out for signs indicating that your dog must be kept on a lead. In the cooler off-season, a trip to the Massif des Maures is well worth it. The dense stands of cork oaks and chestnut trees provide a wonderful backdrop for you and your four-legged friend.
Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt
Mountain air, lakeside views, endless meadows and a hotel that welcomes your dog just as warmly as it welcomes you. At the Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt, your four-legged friend will be pampered with a special dog menu from our kitchen and a selection of dog food, whilst you enjoy the view of the lake or dine in one of our restaurants. Why not entrust your dog to the experienced care of the dog sitters at “LakeDogs”? If you’d like, you can also book a training session at our in-house Training Base.
Outside, the Tegernsee Valley awaits: take a walk together along the Prinzenruh route up to the viewing platform (approximately 12 kilometres), or treat your four-legged companion to a swim at one of the designated dog-friendly beaches during the warmer months. Just a 20-minute walk from our hotel, you will find a designated bathing beach in the Schorn district.
Important information for your stay
How do I indicate during the booking process that I will be travelling with my dog?
Many of our hotels offer you the option to add your dog during the booking process under "Extras" for an additional charge. This applies to the following hotels:

At our other hotels, you have the option to send a personal message to the reservations team as the final step of the booking process (before entering your details), where you can enquire about bringing your dog. This option applies to the following hotels:

- Althoff Hotel Fürstenhof Celle
- Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt
- Althoff St. James's Hotel & Club
Which hotels that are not listed here also allow dogs?
At The Florentin by Althoff in Frankfurt, dogs are welcome and can be added during the booking process. For EUR 60.00 per night, a dog bed, a cushion, and a food and water bowl await your companion.
At the Althoff St. James's Hotel & Club, pets are not permitted on the premises in order to provide all guests with a peaceful environment.
What should I keep in mind when arriving at the hotels with my dog?
On the hotel premises, we kindly ask you to keep your four-legged companion on a lead. The same applies to the surrounding area, particularly in nature reserves or urban environments. Dogs are welcome in many restaurants and bars; however, exceptions do apply. Please enquire at the front desk upon arrival for further information.
