History

The villa was planned and built in 1901 for the Speyer family by the Frankfurt architect Alfred Günther in the historistic Gothic and Renaissance styles and with a high-quality Ashlar Stone facade. During the Second World War, the villa became the property of the City of Frankfurt until it was sold in the early 2000s. The new owner had the facade rebuilt in its original form, which had been destroyed during the war, and added new buildings in the same style to the existing building. He developed the villa as a hotel, which opened in 2006 under the name "Villa Kennedy".
